About Us

We appraise residential properties throughout Seattle, Tacoma, Everett, Olympia, and the surrounding suburbs.

We provide real estate appraisals for mortgage, relocation, refinance, PMI removal, divorce, home improvement, home equity, and tax appeal appraisal purposes.

Our primary appraisal service area includes King, Snohomish, Pierce and Thurston Counties. In addition, we also service portions of Kitsap and Island Counties. See the Area of Coverage page

For over 16 years we have provided residential real estate appraisals to homeowners, mortgage companies, realtors, banks, relocation companies, savings & loans, governmental agencies, and credit unions.

  • Don Pearsall

    Don Pearsall is the owner of Sound Appraisal, which is a branch of Sound Real Estate, LLC, Real Estate Sales. His appraisal career started in 1990 after a successful career as a corporate information systems department manager, computer systems analyst, computer programmer and before that as an Air Traffic Controller for the FAA. Don is a veteran of 6 years in the Air Force. He has an avid interest in real estate appraisal, home building, and land use and home sales.
    Don is a member of the National Association of Independent Fee Appraisers. He is a Washington State licensed appraiser as well as an experienced Washington State Real Estate Sales Agent. He is also a member of the National Association of Realtors, and the Foundation of Real Estate Appraisers. He has participated in numerous appraisal seminars for investors and real estate sales persons.

  • He graduated in 1975 from from the University of Washington with a degree in Microbiology.

    Don is also a leader in appraisal technology. He was among the first appraisers to make use of digital delivery of appraisals. He has been providing clients with computer generated reports with digital images since 1995! Sound Appraisal has prepared over 10,000 appraisal reports for mortgage, refinance, tax appeal, PMI removal, pre-listing, relocation, home equity, home improvement, divorce, trust, and estate purposes.

    Don is an avid pilot and has commercial and flight instructor pilot ratings. He loves flying, boating and skiing, as well as home building and remodeling.

    Don specializes in high value waterfront properties along Puget Sound.
